Just Add Ice Orchids are produced in a state-of-the-art growing facility modeled after those found in Holland where sustainability practices are a top priority. Following European production methods, Just Add Ice Orchids are grown in an environmentally friendly way using highly efficient growing techniques, water conservation and a sustainable heat source. To achieve the maximum space efficiency, reduce labor expenses, and guarantee quality, a highly automated and computerized system is utilized in the growing facility.

All of the water used in the growing process is 100% recycled and reused. With drought concerns facing growers worldwide, rain water has become a vital irrigation source. Collecting rain water alone accounts for 1.5 million gallons of fresh water added to our retention ponds for every 1 inch of rain received. A significant investment has been made in wood boilers to eliminate the dependence on natural gas and reduce emissions to provide a sustainable heating source. These boilers are fueled by refuse from local tree removal companies and will be responsible for heating 100% of the facility.

The entire supply of plastics and cardboards used in the production and distribution process are recycled, and efforts are frequently being made to provide our customers with eco-friendly containers as well as highly efficient distribution solutions.
